The 3rd Sankyu (Blue Belt) represents one of the highest student ranks in the children's judo belt ranking system. At this level, students demonstrate advanced technical skills, strong tactical awareness, and the ability to apply techniques with confidence in both training and randori.

Training focuses on refining throwing mechanics, improving combinations and transitions, and developing greater efficiency in both standing judo and groundwork. Students are expected to perform techniques with precision while demonstrating good timing, balance, and control in a variety of situations.

To earn the 3rd Sankyu (Blue Belt), students demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

  • Fundamentals of Standing Judo: Uchi Komi and Nage Komi.
  • Ashi Waza (Foot Techniques): Sasae Tsurikomi Ashi.
  • Koshi Waza (Hip Techniques): Harai Goshi.
  • Te Waza (Hand Techniques): Uki Otoshi.
  • Fundamentals of Judo Groundwork (Ne Waza): Arm lock transitions and application.
  • Kansetsu Waza (Joint Lock Techniques): Ude Garami.

These techniques help students refine advanced throwing skills, improve technical combinations, and strengthen their understanding of leverage, control, and tactical movement. Mastering these skills prepares young judoka for the final stages of the children's kyu ranking system before advancing to the Purple Belt.

At Dynamo Sports Center, students progress through a structured curriculum with clearly defined objectives for every belt level. Promotion to the 3rd Sankyu (Blue Belt) is based on technical proficiency, safe execution of techniques, discipline, attendance, consistent effort, and a thorough understanding of judo principles.

The 3rd Sankyu (Blue Belt) is a significant achievement that demonstrates advanced technical ability, confidence, and readiness to continue progressing toward the highest student ranks in the children's judo belt ranking system.
