The 2nd Nikyu (Blue/Purple Belt) is one of the final student ranks in the children's judo belt ranking system. At this level, students are expected to demonstrate advanced technical proficiency, tactical awareness, and the ability to perform techniques with confidence, precision, and consistency in both practice and randori.

Training emphasizes advanced combinations, dynamic movement, and smooth transitions between standing techniques and groundwork. Students continue refining their timing, balance, and decision-making while developing the skills required before advancing to the Purple Belt level.

To earn the 2nd Nikyu (Blue/Purple Belt), students demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

  • Fundamentals of Standing Judo: Randori Shiai.
  • Ashi Waza (Foot Techniques): Okuri Ashi Harai.
  • Koshi Waza (Hip Techniques): Sode Tsurikomi Goshi.
  • Kata Waza (Shoulder Techniques): Kata Guruma.
  • Kansetsu Waza (Joint Lock Techniques): Ude Garami.

These techniques help students improve technical precision, develop advanced movement patterns, and strengthen their ability to combine attacks while maintaining proper control and balance. Mastering these skills prepares young judoka for the final student rank before the Junior Advanced Purple Belt.

At Dynamo Sports Center, students progress through a structured curriculum with clearly defined objectives for every belt level. Promotion to the 2nd Nikyu (Blue/Purple Belt) is based on technical proficiency, safe execution of techniques, discipline, attendance, consistent effort, and a thorough understanding of judo principles.

The 2nd Nikyu (Blue/Purple Belt) represents an advanced milestone in a student's judo journey, demonstrating a high level of technical ability, confidence, and readiness to advance toward the highest rank in the children's judo belt ranking system.
